As a Family support worker, finding activities for challenging children to join in is a very difficult part of my job, however with this wonderful user friendly site it is easy to show the kids exactly the sort of things thety will be getting up to, what they can learn, and more importantly what they can achieve with alittle hard work. well done for putting such a good site together

Many congratulations to Cadet Philip Austin who took part yesterday, at Portsmouth, in the annual cadet forces swimming competition. Gaining a medal and a Corps Blue
He came second in his heat, contributing to a continuing overall win by the Air Training Corps for I think the last 37 years!!
Well done indeed.

What a weekend...........
Firstly massive quantities of congratulations to F/S Evans for passing her Drill course, I know she was very nervous about it. I hope our phone call to her on Saturday night was helpfull. She is the first Drill Instructor Cadet on Sqn. We all are very proud of her.
ALSO praise to F/S Dowley who won first prize in the annual aeromodel competition between 79 and 151 (Leominster) at IPMS. He was presented with a "very large" kit model of a ship by the Project Manager of Revell, Volker Vahle. Revell sponsored us this year as our normal sponsors, Airfix, had gone into receivership.
Congratulations to Cdts Dowley and Christie for fine first time efforts.
The ATC as an organisation were presented with a certificate by the Council of the IPMS for their support over many years for the exhibition and aero modelling in particular. We have a copy for display.
A busy weekend indeed.

Hi All,
Brilliant web site, Good to see you keep It Up to Date!.
I was Squadron W/O from1973 to 1980 when whitchurch was a D/F Of 1165 and then a D/F Of 617.
I am now out of uniform and semi retired as a CI with 2WW as deputy Wing Radio Officer.
I can possibly dig out some early photos for your history file if you wish.
All the best.

Hello you lot, remember me(Flt Sgt Birch). Im at Halton as I speak. Training is intense allot of the drill is very different from atc drill oh and a little tip for any of you who want to join the RAF, dont tell them your an air cadet because they hate us all.
It aint really that bad, get to go home next weekend, cant wait.
Hope all is well at the squadron and i'll pop and see you after I pass out on the 11th April.

Congratulations to AWO Docker on being awarded "The Commandant's Commendation for Meritorious Service".
This is thoroughly desrved as I know AWO Docker puts in a lot of time on Cadet activities outside of Squadron Parade Nights, especially in the area of Wing and Regional Sports and other activities.
On Sqn she is the Sqn Training Officer, Millenium Volunteer and DofE Co-Ordinator and Sqn WebMaster.
She also has other roles I no doubt have omitted, but it is fair to say she is almost a one person Sqn Staff.
One again congratulations and well done!

Brampton Summer Camp
What can I say;
without doubt 79 made their mark;
more awards than any other squadron,
entertainment leaders,
the "Red Sparrows",
the Banana Song!
It was a most successful and enjoyable camp.
Well done to all of you, we may be low in numbers, but the "Cadet Quality" is higher than ever before, a truly great team when we all work together.
So roll on next years camp. whenever and wherever that may be.

Thanks for a terrific camp guys. I had a great time and you were very entertaining. You made duxford far more bearable with your fab 'red sparrows' routines. You will be amazed to know that I have decided to try and give up smoking so far I have gone for 17 hours without a cigarette which is good I think. I'm sure alex will keep you up to date with my quest to be healthy!
Don't go changing any of you and keep up the excellent team work. I am sure I will see some of you in the not so distant future so make sure you say hello. Look after yourselves.

Found your website through chance - I was browsing through HQAC's website and saw the link.

A good site with lots of interesting features - especially the history. Are you planning on putting a section for past members of staff to display old pictures...?

Good to see your parade for the 20th Anniversary. I can't remember what we did for the 10th anniversary, if anything; although 1995 was a good year and there are plenty of pictures around of that era.
